This Continuing Education workshop is ideal for both children’s yoga teachers & elementary school teachers. The topic for the workshop will be Inclusion in Yoga: Teaching Yoga to Children in School Settings (focus on ages 5-9).
Participants will explore the science and playful strategies for collaborating with children in making the classroom an ecosystem of connection while decreasing misbehaviors that interrupt learning.
Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of:
● Refining “safe space” in classrooms to build connection based on research
● Understand misbehavior from another perspective and strategies that support
positive behavior including the role of trauma
● A look at the vagus nerve and the autonomic nervous system = key to self-
regulation
● Interactives involving neuro healthy movement; breath techniques specific to
calming anxiety and anger
● Play’s role in prosocial development

This program will be continuing education for yoga teachers and yoga therapists but is open to anyone, including parents, teachers and childcare professionals.
