Interconnected Strength: Movement Practices for Mind-Body Well-Being
All Levels with Heather Van Dalfsen, MEd. C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, Certified Yoga Therapist and Viniyoga Teacher, Pilates Teacher-in-Training

Wednesdays 12:05 PM - 1:00 PM

In this class we will Breathe, Move, Lengthen, Strengthen, Smile and Sweat, exploring movement through Yoga, Pilates, HIIT and Boxing. 

  • We will warm up - taking care of legs, core (back, hips, abs) and upper body, increasing circulation and letting mind and body work as a team with the bridge of the breath
  • We will explore more strengthening and stretching (Note: we can use hand weights, soup cans, water bottles, jug of detergent - be creative) through a mix of strength work with Yoga and Pilates + short HIIT (high intensity interval training) & boxing (which we call PPP's - peaceful powerful punches)
  • We will take time to warm down to integrate the practice and take a few minutes to rest
These Mind-Body practices will support:

  • Muscle tone for bone and joint health
  • Stress Management
  • Respiratory, cardiovascular and immune system health 
  • Mental clarity and awareness
Please have the awareness to take advantage of adaptations in class for care of wrists, knees and shoulders. Practice mindfully instead of mechanically, seamlessly moving into your week with balance, clarity and intention.
